Surprisingly, Dell has designed its keyboards for super-simple replacement. Probably because they can't design a GOOD keyboard to save their miserable hides. But I digress. If you have a Dell, IBM, HP, or Toshiba, you can get those replaced. I can't tell you about any other laptops.
BTW, it will cost you.

You can plug it in???? For real?? I didnt know, I mean I've always heard that the bad news about laptops is that something like that happens and the keyboard does not work, you have to change the whole thing. But if yours is different congrats!! You could try going to an electronics store and ask there, if the replaceable laptops keyboards exist.
Good luck

most likely the liquid seeped down into the plastic sheets that make the keyboard function... if you're good with taking things apart.. i would take apart the laptop and wipe dry everything... otherwise see if any friends can do it. otherwise you can just hope when it dries the keys will function again. take a hair dryer n blow into the keys. but dont get to close or you'll melt them.
or like you said just go buy a usb keyboard

had the same thing happen, i popped all the keys off mine (if you do it - make sure the keys are able to come off - read the book that came with it and write down the order exactly how they go) and clean and dust everything. Leave it apart for a few days to dry very well. It worked for me, but I did it right after it happened. Good luck

the bad news, the keyboard is not replaceable. The good news, the soda is and you'll need the caffeine to keep you awake while trying to unstick all those keys.

it definitely IS replaceable -- my friend was just telling me how he replaced his brother's laptop keyboard. i would go to an electronics store and have a professional do it, just in case tho.

I suggest you look for a receipt or a warranty in the manual then go to the store were you bought it and either ask them to fix it or to replace it.

This happened to my laptop. You can pop out the letters. It does take time, and you have to be careful when removing the letters are you can break them/
