I have a dell inspiron laptop. I am unsure if it is on a goofy setting or not, but if i scroll the mouse and it sits on something for like 2 seconds, it automatically clicks on it.

I have the touchpad mouse and this happens most of the time, not all of the time,

Is this a setting i can change?

Check and see if there is a utility in your control panel for the touch pad. If not you might want to browse your Programs to see if there is something there.

As a last resort, you can visit Dell's website and see if they have an updated driver. I would also look and see if they have an updated BIOS.

Good Luck.

It's either a virus or the touchpad mouse might be busted. We had a mouse that did that (wasn't touchpad though, it was with the desktop) we had to reaplce the mouse. Take it to a trusted computer repair store and see if they can take a look & fix it.

The sensitivity ofthe touchpad might be high that is the reason.

goto mouse setting from control panel and try to reduce the sensitivity of the touchpad.

yes sounds like it. Try going into set up and see if there is a controller for the mouse, it has to be set to open. Should be in the control panel!

I think that you should call the place that you got the computer from, and ask them about it. Because computer places always know what the problem is.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
