Hi, i previously owned an HP Dv5000 laptop which i used to regularly connect to the Tv to watch movies using a 4 pin S-video cable, i recently bought the new HP Dv6000 laptop but i cannot seem to get it to work.

I went through all the settings, everything was alright but the only thing i could see on my tv was flickering lines....does anybody have any idea on how to solve this problem??

Thanks

simple. your computer output isn't on a numbered channel, it's on Line In. With the computer plugged in, have the TV rescan all input channels and it will find the laptop.
Right click on the desktop (but not an icon). On the display settings tab, make sure you have two windows showing. lower the resolution on the 2nd one to no more than 1200. You may have to back it off even more. Check and match these settings to what you had on the older HP.
