But it sure can burn CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW. It keep saying "try another CD or another brand ... etc". The worst part is the disc (CD-R) is being damaged everytime it failed to burn.
My notebook is a QOSMIO-G20 from Toshiba.

Thank u so very much for all the answers. I tried all sugestions and amazingly it WORKS. Thanks to yahoo!answers and most of it Thanks to all of you guys who answered my question so promptly. I cannot choose the best answer yet (have to wait for 4 hours).

Enable recording :
1. Open My Computer folder
2. Right-Click on the CD/DVD drive and select "Properties".
3. Select the "Recording" tab.
4. Check the "Enable CD recording on this drive" check box.
5. Click "Apply".
6. Click "Ok".

there could be several reasons, maybe the cd u want to burn is low quality, maybe u computer is overloded, or maybe there is some dust in u devise. And try to use nero

try cleaning the cd-rom using a cleaning disk
