I have had probs before with the devices that I plug in not being detected and once reinstalling them helped but now I am getting nothing. I am plugging something in and it isn't even being recognized. Reinstall hasn't helped. Any suggestions?

P.S. My warrenty ran out before I could take it in to be checked (I was in online school and they take the laptop for a minimum of two weeks)

Hello, i have a nice music collection, but i have to reboot my computer again. Last couple of times i have had to burn ALL my music to cd, which was ok, but now i have about 200-300 more songs downloaded and their all mixed up. Is there a way that i can save my entire music collection to disk? is there a way that i can look up the songs i downloaded from limewire and re-download them? how do i save my music playlists, without having to burn everything back to more cds? thanks for any help.

when i play games and videos opn my computer it is slow. when i turn on the power it takes about 4 minutes to start. this has not happened to my laptop before. oh and a few times i kept gettin a blackout from the electricity. my computer was on during those times. does this blackout has an effect on why my laptop is running slow?

It keeps buzzing, everytime I start it up, and it never starts up correctly. I've had this problem before, and have been able to fix it. However, I'm not sure now if it is the hard disk itself or the CPU fan or other cooling fans. It is a laptop, if that make a difference. Please, if you can, tell me what I can do to fix or trouble shoot this problem. I'm technically advanced, so I would know the "lingo". Thanks in advance guys :)

I'm about to buy an laptop (HP dv9000t/z)...
the 9000t comes with Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor up to T7200 (2.00 GHz) and the 9000z comes with AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Processor TL-60 (2.0 GHz).

I want to which one is better for multi-tasking, gaming, and hosting game servers. Please Advise. I'd appreciate!

I am considering either Toshiba M105 - s3041 or Sony VAIO S600/b, the toshiba one is on sale for 500 dollars and the Sony Vaio is on sale for 999 dollars, please help me decide which one is better. The toshiba one has an option to upgrade to 1 gb ram.

My laptop keeps saying primary hard disk drive 0 not found. I was told my hard drive was dead and I had to get a new one. I need one quick and none of the stores I've gone to have internal laptop hard drives only external. Can my Dell Latitude use an external hard drive just until I find an internal one?

When setting up my router it tells me to connect to the internet but my old modem is not plugged in. If i plug my modem in i lose my adsl connection with my router. I have the installation cd 4 my router and my old modem(sagem fast) is not mentioned, it seems to suggest my router(d-link DSL-G624T) will act as my modem.
In theory it should but it does not.
Any help greatly recieved. Thanks in advance.

I wish to buy a laptop. My friend is strongly suggesting me not to buy a Dell's laptop coz they are of inferior quality. But here in Australia Dell is perhaps the cheapest.

Can anyone tell me if you agree that Dell's laptop are of inferior quality and has operational problems (regard less of current battery problems). Please share your experiences.

In a day or so I'm about to purchase a cable lock for my new laptop that I'm going to use while I'm in university.

It'll give me some peace of mind knowing it'll be safe. But I would absolutely love having complete peace of mind instead.

Is a security cable lock (particularly the Kensington ones) really effective to keep my laptop safe?

I would say that Sony is probably the most advanced electronics company in the world. Why?
