To remove the password to BIOS, there is a little battery in the CPU (now you need to be very very careful). If you remove this battery, the BIOS will be reset, there won't be a password anymore.
BUT BEFORE DOING SO, make sure that your Windows 98 CD is bootable otherwise you do the above for nothing.
If the CD is bootable, and you have removed the battery and put that again, you should be able to go into BIOS and set the startup drive to CD-ROM drive. then insert the CD in drive and restart system. It should come up with windows 98 installation then the next step is to follow the instructions on screen. (not difficult at all).
If the CD is not bootable then somehow u'll need to start your comuter if you already have an operating system and then start installation with this CD.

Did you buy the computer from someone and not get the password? Turn the computer on once and open the tray to your CD ROM drive. When you put the disk in and close the door it should start up. It will ask you questions and then follow those. If you are trying to get around a password I couldd tell you how, but it is a lond drawn out process. Win98 should be on CD. Do you also have a floppy that says Win98 start up disk? You can write to me if you like, try to explain better what you want and what you have.

Hopefully your computer will boot from a floppy. If it will boot floppy then put the bootdisk in floppy drive and restart your computer. At the command prompt type in fdisk and enable large disk support and setup on primary dos partition . You will need to restart when it boots up you will get a black screen with three options using arrows or your keyboard select start windows setup from cdrom and press enter. You will probably get a message stating that the drive is not formatted allow setup to format. Everything else is pretty much automatic but you do need to make sure you have your sound card and video drivers on a disk. Odds are these two items won't have drivers on windows 98 se disc and they will need to be re-installed. best of luck.

floppy boot disk will creat a drive for you to install windows 98 se, first shut down your pc, put the floppy in and and copy of win98se in your cd rom, start up. you should get a black screen, type in setup and this should work. other wise do the first part again and type format c: follow the instructions to wipe your harddrive you will lose everything so make sure you have all the nesseccary disks. when finished pop the floppy in and restart again. this will creat a drive for you to install win98se put your win98se in your cd rom and type setup: should work... follow instructions carefully and take your time to read everything that comes up on the screen.. good luck. call me if you have any problems really call me ... joejoeyjbgd@yahoo.ie

The best way to reset the BIOS pass:
!!first unplug computer!!!
Next to the BIOS battery, u have 3 pins, 2 of them have a jumper on, switch the jumper between pin 1,2 to 2,3 and then put it back on 1,2
Plug your PC and your BIOS will be reseated.
Or ... u need a disk that makes cd-rom available after format
When you start your computer, go in ms-dos, format HDD (format c:\) insert the boot disk for cd-rom and boot from it

You should be able to go to the CD and run setup.exe from there.
if you feel technically able to take the case off of your PC, then look for a small link on the motherboard that will probably say "BIOS Reset" or maybe NVRAM.
It maybe on 2 pins already, if it is after powering off switch it over to the other 2 pins and power on for a few seconds, then power off again, replace the link to where it was, and then power up, get into BIOS and all should be as new.

Put the floppy in the drive and reboot, type fdisk at the command prompt, delete any partitions on the drive, go back to the command prompt and type format C: choose large disk support. When format is complete, reboot with the boot floppy in and choose start with cdrom support. Type setup and enter
