Well the guy on here that says his IT people say Dell is the best is funny. His company doesn't want to spend money on real laptops so the CFO tells them to buy the lowest priced ones.

I own both a Lenovo laptop which I love and a Mac which I love. If you are new to computers altogether go with the Mac. It has pretty much any program you could need right out of the box, better graphics card then most notebooks and Mac's do not have most of the problems that pc's have. If you have experience on computers already and it has been in a windows platform, then I would go with a windows based laptop especially if you are off to school. Otherwise it is going to take some time to learn a different operating system.

Apple outperforms PC hands down. People who are used to Mac will not switch back to PC. If you are well aquainted with PC then go for the VAIO if your looking for performance, power, stability etc. go for the MAC. Apples are less vaurnable to viruses but still can get them its a myth that they cant, why do they make anti-virus software for macs.
