I'm about to buy an laptop (HP dv9000t/z)...
the 9000t comes with Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor up to T7200 (2.00 GHz) and the 9000z comes with AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Processor TL-60 (2.0 GHz).

I want to which one is better for multi-tasking, gaming, and hosting game servers. Please Advise. I'd appreciate!

(if you need to look at these products completely, then go to www.hpshopping.com > Notebooks > HP Pavilion Notebook PC's > dv9000 series)

Thanks!

Over years, AMD has proven to offer richer features better performance, the Core 2 Duo promises to "trouble" AMDs current reputation, but right now AMD takes the cake. Both are very close performance wise and you will not find a considerable difference while multi-tasking, gaming, and hosting game servers. Its like asking someone Ford or Chevy? AMD is more popular currently though.

Right now, there are not very many programs that will actually use 64 bit processing so the turion and the intel duo are not really usable in full force.
If I had to make the decision though, I would have to say the Intel duo. I would rather have the computing power of dual core chips than just 64 bit support.
JMHO but I have an HP DV1000 with the centrino chipset and have never had a problem I didnt create myself such as deleting a file.

nah, no need 2 go 2 hp web site < i'm in a hurry actually >

the t7200 is only a week old & offers 4 mb l2 cache & is miles ahead of the tl-60 which has 1 mb cache., same as celeron m

fsb of tl-60 is much higher at 1800 mhz compared to 667 of t7200
but i think the 1800 is pretty much useless on date
u build a autobahn alright, but put in a bullock cart !

believe me, the merom has taken the high to mid end notebook market by storm, more so the t7x00 series
maybe i can elaborate in a few hours time !

Most gamers go with AMD processors. They tend to run a little cooler than do Intel. Price is no long an issue between the two.

i customized a dv9000t with core 2 duo 2 ghz

i chose core 2 duo after reading reviews and seeing performance charts
512mb nvidia card will be fine for me for gaming,
as for hosting, i am not sure which one will perform best,
amd or intel
I will be doing multitasking myself, large photoshop files, dreamweaver, and flash at once,
i should be good
good luck to you
mine is being built,
should be ready on Sep. 14, HP says

p.s. dv9000t has HDMI, that is one reason i waited and did not got with dv8000t, i will be playing my Nintendo classics on my HDTV,
Contra, Megaman, Mario 1, 2, 3,

I'm a big AMD fan, but I ended up getting the Intel Core Duo. I say go for Intel......... AMD fanatics out there, DON'T SHOOT ME. 5 of 6 computers I have are AMD.

The AMD is a dual-core processor also? Go with that one.
