What do the numbers mean? 4 - 4 - 8---- 3 - 3 - 8 ...etc.
What do each represent, and what is better, higher or lower number?

The number sets I found when I ran CPU-z. Ive seen them before, and Ive seen people talk about them, but I dont know what they mean. Here is what the numbers are next to...

RAS# to CAS# - 4
RAS# Precharge - 4
Tras - 8

And the other numbers are for another ram piece.

When I am buying software, on the box it says minimum RAM (random access memory) colin followed by a number (64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1024MB (1 gigabyte), or 2048MB (2 gigabytes). Does that mean overall system memory or how much memory is needed for that specific program?

If there isn't a disk inside the drive, then it won't open when I push the button. It'll make a clicking sound and after 3 seconds or so the light will flash green. If there's a disk inside the drive, there are never any problems. It can read it fine and it opens when it's supposed to, but when there isn't a disk inside it and it's closed the damn thing won't open. Please, what the hell should I do?

Hi all,

I have a rather old AMD XP2000+, a simple graphic card NVidia FX5200, one IDE HD (7200 rpm) and only one fan for the processor and one for the power pack.
How can I estimate how much electricity my computer is consuming? I use something called cooler XP, which reduces the amount of electricity consumed by 'blocking' the processor's activity when idle. I can see that the computer consumes less energy this way because when using cooler XP the temperature of my processor drops from around 55C° to 30C°.

Could anyone help me on this?

Thanks!

I was looking online at some computer stores and i was wondering if they are any relaible.(I will liste them on the end.) Anyways what im trying to find out is did any of you order from them and had some bad or good experiences. Also are they friendly and all of that stuff. Most of these computers are costum made and not very expensive compared to like dells gaming machines.

203: Insert Boot Diskette in A and the next line says Press any key when ready. But when I press a key it just keeps scrolling up.

I own a Sony Vaio desktop. When I push the power button on the tower to turn it on, the tower beeps three times then goes into Standby mode. The computer never starts up. I don't know if a fan blew out or if it's a virus. I end up having to push the power button on the tower to turn it off. I have tried giving it time to rest, but nothing changes. Please help!!

I have a brand new Intel Core 2 computer
2.13 Ghz Core 2 Processor
2 GB DDR2 800 MHz Ram
Samsung DVD-+RW with lightscribe
ATI AIW X1900 Graphics Card

This computer is top of the line and I can do everything great on it it only has an issue when it comes to DVD playing. The DVD seems to play slower and skip frames making an annoying noise on speakers and playing slowly. Basically a uniformly choppy playback. I have tried a number of things uninstalling codecs etc I am presently trying to make it work with WinDVD but still the same issues arise. Please give me some suggestions

My computer has really slowed down since I've been using iTunes... makes sense as I'm using up about 40GB in songs. How can I (a novice computer user) speed my system up again? Do I need to load another hard drive (if I have a slot available)? THANKS!
