AM2, it will support the faster DDR2 memory. 939 uses the old DDR memory, 940 is for server chips.

AM2 for sure if you have to go AMD. But the Core 2 Duo's are better by far if you can stomach using an Intel. I've been an AMD fan for years, but once I read the article below I had to try Intel and I am very impressed. Very, very impressed.
