i just put a geforce PCI video card in my pc running an Intel celeron socket 370, 950mhz cpu. i am running windows ME and after i put it in to sleep mode it WILL NOT come out of it.

it would come out of sleep BEFORE i added the video card.

i recently had the same problem after i upgraded to a dual core CPU with xp.
check with nvidia and make sure you are using the proper drivers, last i checked they didnt have any for drivers for windows ME
things i tried that didn't work for me but may work for you
a higher wattage power supply... check this one by picking one up at b buy or something, install it, if it works great, if not you may return it.
also read the documentation or look up on line whether or not your graphics card needs to have a power cord plugged into it.
run memtest x86 to check your ram isn't bad. just type memtest into your search engine
try resetting your cmos and reconfiguring your bios
i dont know what will work for you sounds like a pretty old computer.
what eventually ended up working for me.
i had to unseat my pci cards one by one (turn off you computer and unplug it first) till the problem went away. the culprit in my case was my TV tuner card. still waiting to hear from hauppage (1 week and counting...)

sleep mode and hibernate do not work on all pc's windows xp has mostly cured the problem but i suggest to my customers not to use it
