You should get some help with this one. Its a little tricky.
Back up your data.
Make sure you system BIOS is able to boot from A or CD rom then hard drive 3rd.
Use an emegency boot disk to get into safe mode.

If you have the Windows 98SE FULL CD you can directly boot to this and it will guide you if not you are on a difficult journey that will take you an hour to 3 hours to format, parition, reinstall os, set up, install ALL drivers and 3rd party software.

If you have a official boot disk. It will walk you through the process.
If you have to do it manually you will have to learn about the format c: /s/v command and switches. Format C: only will erase but WILL NOT make you hard drive bootable!

Win98 users mostly did that with the rescue floppy they made. You boot off that and just type Format c:
But, no offense, if you had to ask that question it would probably not be a good idea to try to redo your hard drive without some help.
Reformatting wipes out everything. All of your software and hardware drivers would need to be redone from scratch.

With mine I stick in a disk called Windows 98, 'restore pack' and just press yes and no when it prompts me. After that it's totally reformatted.

insert the start up disk into ur floppy then give this format order FORMAT C: & it will format & reinstall the windows BUT i suggest 2 install win XP .

click on MY COMPUTER on your desktop

click on drive c:

then right click it and click on FORMAT

too bad you didn't read the help files that came with your computer. you would have had this done and now be working on something else.
