Should I "gold" disk it back to it's original state?

No, just do some general maintenance. Disk cleanup, disk defrag, delete internet temp files and cookies. Run a virus check and run spybot search and destroy (yahoo search its free) to find any malware. Go to control panel/ add remove programs/ and delete unwanted programs. that should help. You could also do a restore. Gold disk it as a last resort. Good luck

you could restore it back to original state but i would scan it with a virus scanner, like avg which is a free virus scan you can get off the internet, also you would scan your computer with ada-ware or spybot, ewido etc... all free internet software downloads, if that dont work then maybe restore it.

Try running the following free software:

AVG anti-virus
Spybot
Ad-Aware

They'll scan your computer for viruses, spyware, and other things that commonly cause problems.

Before you gold disc it try to defragment first, go in programs then to accessories than to systems tools try this first

I would run a virus and spyware check ASAP. You may have something attacking it.

you could try to uninstall it, or switch the hardrive,or upgrade your comp. system
