Do you have a microphone enabled that is picking up the sound from the speakers - only to play it again as an echo? If so, mute / unplug the mic - or at least decrease the snsitivity

If you have a "software surround sound" option, tun it off- they are sometimes so horribly bad they just sound like an echo chamber gone wrong.

Main suspect - is microphone

The impedence may be off > First select a different surround mode and see if that helps if not then you need to adjust the delay for example if your rear are far away and the front are up close the impedence needs to be higher on the rear so the sound gets to you at the same time as the front. There are even more variables when you start bouncing the sound off walls and such . Each system will have a sweet spot, the trick is adjusting angles, impednce(delay), surround mode, and volume to aim that spot right where you want it to be in a room.
