i am looking to build my next computer to run Ubuntu Linux. I am curious if the below components are Ubuntu friendly:

The Dell web site doesn't mentioned the graphic card for the Dell Poweredge SC430. It has one, since it does support a monitor but it doesn't mention the type, brand and the specs. Anyone know? I believe its a built-in graphics card on the mother-board. Thanks!

I have a compaq presario 3000+(2.16GHz) AMD Athlon XP processor, 448 MB PC2700 DDR SDRAM Memory, 160 GB 7200 RPM ultra DMA hard drive, also another question is how do i find out the power supply on my pc. I want to know because i currently have the worst graphix card ever, I luv The Sims 2 and i really dunno if my pc will be able to handle any more expansion packs. My monitor POWER cable says: 10A, 250V. my CPU power cable says 6A, 250V.

Recently, my monitor stopped working, so as a part of hit and trial, i exchanged these two wires. So, although my monitor is using a 6A cable instead of 10A.. my CPU is getting 4A excess than what its wire said initially.

Is this safe?? Will i end up blowing up my CPU??

Everytime I insert a cd or dvd into my computer it freezes (locks -up) and i have to restart using the reset switch. I use windows xp home edition. I tried another drive from a friend and it still is freezing. What can i do to fix this problem?

I have a 1300MHz (1,29 GHz) Processor, NVidea GeForce 2 with D+L shading. and 512 RAM. I want to get a nice gaming computer up. I bought the Tower for $200 but I want to do little add-ons so I can run quality games. Would you recommend I get a new processor, Video Card and 512 more RAM? If so which ones do you recommend(Processor + Video Card.) I really don't feel like getting a new computer though also. I don't want to get Exspensive though, a 64MB Video card would do and I don't know what a good cheap processor would be either. I have an Intel Celeron right now. Thanks for you help.

i noticed in the back of my pc, it has subwoofer/woofer (out), rear(out), front (out). i plugged in 3 regular pc speakers into all the inputs but only the speaker labeled (front) has audio coming out. whats wrong?

I am thinking of buying a new computer. I plan just to use it for Internet use, and some light gaming.

I have around best buy and looked at some at a local shop here in town.

Is it possible to have your old PS2 proccosser hooked up with your computer's processor and everything else hooked up at the same time and just have it as a extra external processoing unit or is it not possible and if it is I want to know how to do it and what I would need in order to do so if you can give me a website to help me figure out how to do this that would be great. 10 points to person that gives the most direct answer and most in-depth answer that works.

i have just re-installed windows xp on a system with no problems,and i have found out it has a n-force 2 motherboard
i am using the p.c with no problems ,so what will i gain by installing the nforce 2 mainboard drivers.
is it nessecary or can i survive without them,
i have found the drivers and downloaded them so they are ready to install if needed

I have jus t found that my hard drive which is 160GB is only showing 127GB, thanks to another question I asked I have found computer managerment, this shows the drive with 24.67 GB unalocated can I get this back so my hard drive is near to the 160 it should be without formating.

The mouse stops, the kebord stops functioning, evrything stops working. I have to restart the coputer everytime it happens. Sometimes the computer would go three days without hanging up but sometimes it would hang up 4-5 times a day. I am really fed up of it. Took it to one computer mantinance store also but the computer did not hang there. Though that was a long time ago now I have upgraded most parts of my system. I have changed the video card, RAM, hard disk, power supply and even the CPU cooling fan. I dont know what else to do. Its still hanging up. Please help me. If you dont know please dont answer, like some people say go to this website etc. If you know please try to help help me. I will really be very thankful as I am constantly losing my data every time.I am using windows xp but have also tried windows 98.I have formatted my sytem a hundred times. It hang up anytime,during a game or browsing the internet or even when i am doing nothing. Cpu is p4.no luck even after format.

I have a pc with a fried motherboard. I want to clone the hard drive to a new computer but am not quite sure how to go about it. Computer 1 is inoperable, so I can't access it's own backup system for a transfer. Any help would be appreciated. I am at a fairly advanced user, and am familiar with terms and definitions. Thanks.
