Does anyeone know what i need to upgrade in my system to play Battlefield 2142? i dont want to spend more than $500.
here is my currrent system specs:
AMD Athlon XP 3000+ 2.1 Ghz Socket A
1.5 GB PC-2700 RAM
2 hard drives, one IDE other SATA
SATA:320GB
IDE:80GB
ATI Radeon X800 Sapphire GTO AGP eddition
ASUS "Kelut" motherboard, VIA chipset
2 CD rom drives, one is DVD/CD reader, the other is a universal burner, CD-R/CD-RW DVD-R/DVD-RW, the univerasal one wont play certain types of secured discs, like Tribes vengence and F.E.A.R.
Full ATX case.
9 USB 2.0 ports, i have been having software problems with my removable ones
and the entire thing is AGP-8X based.

All you need to do now is buy and install the game.

Looks to me like you should be able to play most games but as one other responder mentioned you may have a bunch of stuff running and eating up your resources.

Check out this response I gave to another questioner. It has some suggestions that may help you clean up things so the game will work okay.

you have a fast processor, you have a good vid card... the most you might need is a little more memory, a gig should work. If that doesn't work, halt some of the less important processes that you have running in the background, and you will free up a lot more resources.
