PSU is the power suppply unit, that box where you plug your pc in and where you see a fan in the back. It controls the power your computer use, as for where you see it say on on the mobo, it's most likely where you connect the PSU to the mobo or where the PSU monitoring system is connected, it allows your pc to monitor psu fan speed, temp, voltages etc etc.
