I being the most computer hardware wise person ive ever known, will be willing to dig up an older computer with some ram and use my digital camera and email you a kindof instructional video for you, just email me at Bobarama7k@yahoo.com, or if you cant wait, you can message me with the newest version of yahoo messenger or msn, Bob7k@passport.com, im always logged in that.
you need to open your computer inorder to do that, with companies like HP, thats no problem, they will still service my comp even with radical changes like new hard drives, new cases, almost anything, and ram is one of those, so you might be able to change your ram with out any side effects, and its really hard to screw up doing it. if its a laptop, its a whole lot easier, a little panel you inscrew and pop it in like a lego, with PCs its a little harder, you might need to remove some hardware inorder to reach it, but thats if you are using some unusual parts, the mobo designers make sure that ram is easy, you need to know what size and speed the ram thats in your computer before you buy it, faster and bigger memory sizes will cost you more money, so see if its for gaming, go for the more expensive one, if its like an office computer, sacrifice speed for cash. but you need to make sure that the ram speed is the same, like PC2700 or 200Mhz. there is a super easy and free program that can tell you everything about your computer, even when your ram was MADE, thats insane, lol, but awesome, you can download it here, it will even tell you if you even have a free slot for some more ram http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-136.zip if it doesnt download, you can go here for some information on it, and the download link http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php . its an expert program, i use it alot before i do anything to my system. also, it doesnt hurt, but there is also a benchmarking app called 3dmark, tells you how well it performs in games, and gives you an overall score, so you can see if overclocking a CPU or GPU is worth the heat generated. http://www.futuremark.com/download/ great app. but back to the memory, when its downloaded, check to see if the ram is the same speed as the one you currently have. if it is the sma speed, go to the store and check the current models and stuff for one that is the same speed and the size, mb or gb can be different, greater usually means higher cost, but faster computer. the rest is kinda complicated, so contact me if you want step by step instructions on aactually inserting the ram into the computer.

You first need to find out what RAM you need on the Crucial website, buy it and even with very little knowledge it is very easy to install, just find where it is in your computer, pull back the two pins on either side of the memory and just swap it and close the gates again. Then just start up your PC and its done.
