Greetings!!
Under the said computer management right click the partition and click new and follow the prompts.
BUT BEWARE: If this is your primary hard drive (ie the one that has windows on it you cannot add the 24 gig to your 127. windows cannot repartition nondestructively.
How ever you should be able to partition the 24 gig so that shows as a seperate drive. This is actually a good idea to keep important data on this partition so that in the event of a system break down you are less likely to lose your data.
But don't rely on this method for as 100% fault tolerant back up routine.
Use removable media such as CD-R, DVD-R, or other hard disks to back up your data.
If you must have the big partition then these are your options:
A program like Arconis partition manager will from within windows extend your partition so that your disk will show close to 160 gig. Up to you if you want to fork out for it.
If you are feeling brave, back up your data and reinstall windows. when you boot from the CD after excepting the terms and conditions you can delete both partitions and create one big or several smaller partitions, then the disk will be formated and windows reinstalled.
I hope that helps, if you run into serious trouble and can still get on the net send me an email and I will try and help you.

yes you can do this
right click my computer
choose manage
then left click once on disk management
now on the right side right you will see your drive listed there
you will see the space that is already used and then you will see the free space it will be coded with different colors or somehow seperated i forget
anyway right click that free space
you will get the option to make it an extended partition or something like that its been a while since ive done this
its pretty simple to get done though
just make sure you format it with ntfs
good luck, if you have any questions you can contact me
i cant remember off the top of my head how to do the whole process but i will definately be able to answer any questions you might have

try having a look at the disk managment first in control panel in admin tools, then go to computer management, then click the disk management tab on the left it will show your partitions and drive capacity. If there is any free space being unused right click it creat partition then format it and it should be ready to use.

Yes, you need a partition manager program. A good commercial one is partition magic.
You can get free partition managers by following the link below, but I don't know which ones are any good.

i guess you are using windows with xp1, coz only sp2 allow you to mount big drives, so install this package and use 3d party partition prog to merge, i'd recomend you to use disk director from acronis.
