There are some old floppies with important information that can not be read in modern computers. It must be somebody smart enough to find a way so it can be done. USB and the 4 pins power supply will be the hardest.

I know some about computers but not enough. I already had two 512 cards in my computer and I just put two 1GB cards in. I just want to make sure that my computer updated itself, but for the life of me I don't remeber where to look to make sure it did. I also moved the older cards to the secondary slots before installing the new ones too. If any more info is needed just ask I'll put it up here.

I bought a geforce 7800 gs, and tried to install it but they said my power supply didn't have enough watts and amps so I went and bought a new one that would help with that and now my new power supply won't work so therefore my video card will not work either, maybe I am hooking some of the cables up wrong or what?

My old desktop has just been sitting in my room for the past few months since I got my new laptop, so it seems like a good idea to use my desktop's HD as an external drive. I just ordered a USB-IDE cable/plug-in power supply set because it was the cheapest way of doing this, but now I'm wondering if my purchase was a bit hasty. I'm wondering if I should have spend a little extra money and gotten an enclosure instead. How important are the cooling/safety benefits of an enclosure? If there's a danger of overheating when you don't use an enclosure, should I not leave the HD plugged in for too long?

I have a 500 watt power supply, and I bought 2 additional hard drives for my Pentium 4 (2.8 ghz) system with 1 gig of ram. The system has a few PCI cards that require power directly from the power supply, like my graphics card, so therefore I don't have enough power plugs, from the power supply, to go to my new hard drives. Can I simply buy a sort of power supply splitter from somewhere?

My motherboard’s second IDE port is not working, so I had to buy an IDE PCI card so that I can hook up two additional hard drives to my computer. The problem is, I’m not too sure how the jumpers should be setup on the two new hard drives that I am installing. Should the jumpers on the two new hard rives be taken out completely (so as to make them slaves,) or should they be set to “cable select?”
