reboot your computer and then you should see some text either in the top right hand corner or lower left telling you which key to hit to enter setup or bios. Usually F2 or F10 something like that. Once you are in the BIOS you should be able to page through and find the audio settings that is where you can disable the sound card.

This can be very hard if you do not have experience modifying BIOS settings. If you do not have knowledge of how your BIOS works then it is best not to fiddle around in it. If you need to; go to your computer OEM's website and get the details on your computer's BIOS, this can be tricky to find, just look around, it will usually be on the support page for you computer. Not all computers have the same BIOS either, they look different. It will usually be clearly labelled.

You can not do that from BIOS! Simply uninstal drivers for this chipset in System tools. When you have not installed drivers for any component of the system, this component will be registered as UNKNOWN DEVICE and will not work. Best Regards and veradisca! Neven.

This all depends on the manufacturer of the motherboard. They are all different. Check the manual for your motherboard. If you don't have it anymore, you can always check the manuf's website for the manual.
