You could consider trading your PC for a PS3.

Not that i have heard.

What happens as i understand it is the grphics card has it's own memory so that your computer has more memory free to do other things.

But it is not just the memory it uses, the graghics card also has it's own prossesor i believe, it does more than just store memory. the compnents on that card are doing all kinds of important work to creat you graphics for your games etc..

also the way it is connected to the board, those metal lines running from it across your mother board are sending and recieving info to all parts of the computer, doing work faster and better than the 2 gig of memory and the proccessor in your computer would beable to do just by the shear fact of having more pathways to do it.

That is he best i can remember from reading up on this on line and in a few books.

A good example is you know how they shut down one lane on the highway for construction and how all the trafic all of a sudden slows down or even jams up right there ? That is what you are doing to your system by not having a graghics card.

Getting a graghics card is like adding another highway to a city, traffic opens up and moves faster. Also it's like having two people do a job instead of just one, get more work done faster. Get the idea ?

And last but not liest, the programs that run on todays computers actually need all the memory you can get, specially for gaming or burning recording video and music. That 2 gigs can get filled up and used fast. Think of it as someone trying to get you dial a phone number while driving, alot easyier if the passenger in the car does it while you drive, not because you don't have enough memory in your brain, you got plenty, just your using it to drive, let the other guy use his memory to phone and you'll both do better.

Get it ?

Get a card or fix the one you got, need a good deal ? Make friends with someone works at a computer place, see if they can get it wholesale price for you....some small repair shops will do that for employees.

No. If the game requires a highend GPU, then you will need to change the Graphic Card to either play the game or get the highest graphic performance for the game.
It does not matter if you have 2gb of RAM or any software if you are running a 3 year old video card and trying to play games like FEAR, or CC3, etc.
