okay here is the problem i have a 3.2 GB harddrive. I know its old there is a password in it . How do i break it??

When I try to boot up my laptop I just get a curser at the top left of the screen. I bought a new charger from ebay (original dell) because my cat chewed the old one. Dont' know if this would be related. Any body had this problem before?

Crucial.com told me it could only take 384mb but this made me search for answers because i need to use my computer for playing games watching movies etc. Does anyone know some really cheap upgrades i can use for my computer and can i support more ram than 384mbs

I keep getting the same thing:

Boot from CD:

and then nothing.

I have this new comp i built from scratch. I have a SATA 400GB HD with an older CD/DVD rom drive. I checked the wires, and its set up first device booted is the CDrom and then second is the Hard Drive. Still doesnt work. I replaced the CD/DVD rom with another. Nothing. Does the master, slave jumpers have anything to do with this? I have no clue.

I have XP corprate edition, and i cant get it to load. I've tried pretty much everything, and nothing seems to be the problem. Can Anyone help me?

Simple, what parts of a constructed by me PC can i replace without losing anything. More specifically, can i buy a new MBoard and replace the one i got and it wont affect anything?

I bought a off lease gx270. I also bought a xp oem disk. While loading the xp it goes so far into the load sequence and it freezes. Any Idea? did I get ripped off on the computer it does seem to work. any advice would really be appreciated. Should I format the harddrive to totally clean it up?

I INSTALLED A 500W POWER SUPPLY AND A NVIDIA 8800GT OC. IT WORKED GREAT FOR THE FIRST WEEK THEN MY PC SLOWED DOWN. I CONTACTED BFG, GPU TEMP GOOD.SEVERAL EMAILS LATER , THROUGH PC WIZARD 2008 PROGRAM, MY VOLTAGES SEEM LOW TO BFG TECH. HE SAID TO GO TO MY BIOS MENU AND SEE IF IT SAID THE SAME THING AS PC WIZARD.BIOS ADVANCED MENU OPTIONS, UNDER POWER , ONLY SAYS CPU FAN SPEED AND TEMP, NOT VOLTS.I AM LOOKING FOR A VOLT SCANNER TO COMPARE OR ANY SUGGESTIONS TO MY PROBLEM.

I wanna add a low profile video card that can fit into the PCI express slot.
low profile means shorter (85mm) bracket and lower voltage.
160 Volt (s3100n's power supply) is ok for all the low profile video cards to work?

I have a dvd ram on my laptop, but I want to play sims 2 deluxe on my desktop computer. My desktop doesnt have the dvd rom. And my laptop doesnt have the dvd decoder. Can I play sims 2 deluxe on my desktop with out the dvd rom? And can I play it with a dvd decoder on my computer?

For the last week everytime I turned on my laptop the screen would be red but then fade back to the normal color. Last night while I was working the whole thing went black. I could barely see what was on the screen but I know it was still working. Does anyone have an idea what this may be? Do I need to replace the screen or might it be something smaller? I've only had this Toshiba laptop for about 3 years...

My laptop doesnt have a virus. It works fine, just the light on my screen wont come on. I have to use a regular lamp and put it over my screen so that I CAN SEE. EVEN WITH THIS, THE SCREEN IS STILL VERY DARK. i REALLY NEED HELP. CAN THIS BE FIXED? HOW? IM SUE ITS A BATTERY ISSUE BUT IM NOT SURE. PLEASE GIVE ME ANSWERS, NOT SUGGESTIONS. I have a Sony Vaio laptop. Up until a few weeks ago, if I wanted to scroll down the page, all I had to do was move my finger up and down the right side of the touch pad. That's not working anymore. Also, when I hover over something now, whether it be a desktop item or a file within a folder, anything, really, it automatically selects it. I've tried going into the mouse settings and finding the problem, but all the options read as if I had an external mouse. I've tried looking this up in the Microsoft knowledge base, but nothing there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
