How old ??
With computer prices as they are today, I'd use the excuse to buy a new, well-spec'd machine, unless your machine is less that 2 years old.

High it depends how old your computer is. I would say that if you are not running xp or Vista as your os (operating system) then you should by a new pc. There are many different deals at the moment, especially as it is only a few weeks before christmas, and you will be suprised at what you can find. Look at the sources below great places to shop for Computers.
On the other hand if your computer is less than 2 years old i would suggest upgrading it. If you know what you are doing the it is relevantly cheap to buy components and install them. If you don't then i would suggest getting a professional to do the installation for you. If you fail to do this then you could mess up your computer and cause alot of damage forcing you to buy a new computer anyway.
I hope I have helped

A the previous post said, "it really depends on how old your existing computer is".
Things like adding RAM can bring an otherwise slow computer back to life. If you don't keep your computer clean and 'tuned up' it can slow down when really it just needs a bit of TLC>
Things to consider. RAM should be at least a gig or 2.
De-fragment your hard drive often (once a week or so)
Make sure you leave at least 10-15% free space on your hard drive.
And run free anti-malware software such as spybot.
This will keep even an older computer going for a while, but don't expect miracles of speed that are inherently built into the newer computers.

It depends what you've upgraded already? All a computer is is a collection of curcuit boards incased in a case. The main "computer" in it's simplist terms is the motherboard. So you could just upgrade the motherboard. I got mine for about 80 quid. If just want it to look new, just buy a new case or monitor. If you want better performance upgrade the cpu, or get extra ram or replace the old ram if u think theres a problem.

Double edged sword; new is the obvious as technology is quad core dual layer RAM and as said above the price is reasonable.
Vista is still little more than a beta version though and it spits the dummy out with older software/hardware; so your upgrade could work out a cheaper short term solution if you don't want to replace your printer/monitor etc.

Depends how old it is really. Any lower than 2000 I'd say just get a new one, they aren't that expensive if you shop around. You will find some great deals.

to save money you should just reboot your computer then upgrade it but otherwise get a new computer plus it has a wider memory.
