They can do it for you right at the Apple Store! Just tell them you want your hard drive wiped clean. They offered to do it for me when I brought mine in and it had a problem

Apple offers a utility to do this already. You will need the install disk.
1. Insert the install disk and restart the computer
2. Hold down the "option" key (alt if you have a pc keyboard) as the computer starts up.
3. You should now see at least two boot options, on will look like a hard-drive and day something like "Macintosh HD". This is your regular boot volume. The other will look like a DVD and will say something like "Mac OSX install disk". choose the one that looks like a DVD.
4. This will start the installation. Don't install it yet. From the menu bar at the top select the utilities option. Then pick the disk utility.
5. In the disk utility look on the left side and select the correct Volume. (the one that looks like a hard-drive). and you want to select the entire drive.
6. On the top part of this select the "erase" tab.
7. click "security options" choose either 7-pass, or 35-pass
8. click "erase"
9.you need to zero out the data, a 7-pass overwrite will meet the DOD standards, but you can do a 35-pass if you desire. this step will take a while so set it up to go while you watch a movie or read a book, whatever you want.
10. Reinstall Mac OS X
and you're done!

(For any computer!) Trash the hard drive completely and entirely! Take it to the garage. Play Captain Destructo! Place it in the vise. Grab a sledge and pliers. Twist. Hit. Blam! Smash! Kerblooeee! Dispose of the pieces in separate locations all over town. (Sell what's left, if you can, else SAFELY dispose...)

Special Disk Wiper software can do it, reformatting and re-installing Windows WILL NOT! Do a search online and you'll find several.
