When I try to boot up my laptop I just get a curser at the top left of the screen. I bought a new charger from ebay (original dell) because my cat chewed the old one. Dont' know if this would be related. Any body had this problem before?

Your computer is not posting that is most likely a bad motherboard or if your CD/DVD rom spins up while its trying to post your bios are mesed up and you need to download the bios update for your computer from dell and burn it to a disk , put the disk in the CD/DVD rom and hope your computer reloads the bios that way.

I took the element aside and reseated the connections, as somebody had informed me it may desire to be a loose connection, yet nonetheless no longer something. I even have got here across different individuals posting on the subject of the comparable challenge on Dell boards, yet so far no strategies.
