I don't OC and i like my computer fast but i'm no Uber enthusiast when it comes to power

how do i make my go faster like my brother complains about lag on runescape, it's not graphically intensive so don't recommend upgrading the GPU

so would i see that much a difference?

what do you suggest about my RAM

does dual channel actually matter and in my situation is it enabled (for those 2 matching sticks of course)

I was about to purchase a Macbook until i saw on macrumors.com that a new macbook was going to be annoucned at the 2008 January Macworld San Fran. convention...

So should i hold off on buy the Macbook or I should buy it anyways cause it'll be cheaper and there might not be anything worthwhile to hold off on buying it?

using the Nvidia control center.

PNY Nvidia Geforce 8600GT, GDDR 3, 512MB Ram

GPU Core Bus Speed: Stock 576 MHz; Custom OC'ed to 625 MHz

GPU Memory Bus Speed: 730 MHz: Custom OC'ed at 800 MHz

With those settings, I'm playing Crysis at Medium settings, and the highest the graphics card's temperature went was 72C; so those bus speeds are stable.

How much of an increase would one notice with that much increase in bus speeds?

how much would it cost to get my macbook disk player fixed? I droped something on it and now the key board is bent down and i cant play any disks on it , so how much would it be and where can i get it fixed?

So here's my setup

500W Antec power supply
AMD BE-2300 chip
ECS NFORCE6 motherboard
IDE controller PCI card
Four hard drives
Radeon 2600XT video card
2 GIGs of DDR2 800 memory (2 DIMMs)
Soundblaster Live (old card from 2001)

I installed 2 more GIGs of memory (2 DIMMs) and long story short, the system becomes unstable in Vista UNLESS I unistall the sound card.

Does anyone even want to try to explain this?

I'm looking into getting a new laptop. My gateway has 'died' and I need a new one.
I want one where the graphics card is good enough for gaming and the speed is up there too. I've found 2 on walmart.com that I reallly like. 1 is a Toshiba and the other is HP. The links are provided below. Please compare them and tell me which one is better. Thanks.

I have a dell latitude cpi laptop, and it is windows xp, but it is below service pack 2. I cannot upgrade to internet explorer 7 because of this and i cannot install zune sotware from the internet or from the cd because of this. But whenever i put in the windows xp service pack 2 disk, it ways that my laptop is not compaable for this. Is there any way i can make it compadible for windows xp service pack 2? I have a pretty sweet rig right now with 3GBs or ram but have the capability to add up to 8gigs ( 2gb x 4 ) and plan to do that once i upgrade to the windows 64bit OS. My friend told me that 2gb sticks have heat issues and "require" a heat sink or a special fan to keep them cool. Is this true or bull?

HELP! I want to run limewire and itunes off of my external hard drive, but I have a lot of songs downloaded to my limewire and I can't find the file they go in, so I don't want to download the program to my external hard drive and have to redownload all of the songs.

I have a 500W power supply and the following setup:

Four hard drives - 800G total
AMD BE-2300 X2 Athlon chip on ECS Nforce6 motherboard.
Radeon 2600XT video card.
sound card
IDE controller card
1G memory in 2 DIMMS (2G total.)

With the above setup, everything works fine.

But if I install 2 more 1G memory DIMMs, the system becomes unstable. (Eventually windows goes into blue screen.)

The memory I installed is the exact same model and make as what was previously in there. I'm wondering if there simply isn't enough power for the new memory. Is this possible? Does memory take up a lot of power?

Is it possible for Intel or AMD to make a 8 core CPU (octo)? or 16 core (don't know the prefix)? Even 32 core? or 64? My mind is wondering how they fit this tiny architecture on a single CPU by virtualization technology? Just asking :-)
