I'd appreciate some enlightenment...

I went to the computer shop wanting to buy a 320 GB hard disk drive, but the computer guy said I should settle for the 120 GB since my 2.4 GHz Pentium4 might not work well with the 320.

Why? Is it worth the risk to go for the 320 anyway?

Because I really, really want the 320...

And also, would a bigger hard disk size speed up my sad, slow computer?

I have an Nvidia 7600 gtx graphics card.

Do I have to use another Nvidia 7600 if I want to use the SLI feature? Or could I use a more powerful card?

goin to buy a 8800gt and a 550watt power supply. should i also get a new fan for my cpu. rite now it runs average at 50c. its a amd 5000+ dual processor. or is it ok if i stick with the one i have?

My com will shut down automatically when it was at the screen which was testing my computer memory, hard disk and the cd drive...When i press delete to enter BIOS,the computer will also shut down...I cant even start my Window and safe mode...pls help...

My laptop has a lihium-ion battery, its about 3 years old. my laptop no longer works on battery alone..it has to be plugged in to the mains to work. The battey icon has a cross on it and says 8% remaining. It will not charge up and my laptop sporadically switches off and i have difficulty getting it started agan. Has the battery completely an out? why wont it charge up? do i need a new battery or is it something to do with the laptop? thanx =)

i have not so old western digital harddisk,
which only damage at several part of the harddisk and i can still use it not as the primary harddisk but i only use it as secondary harddisk.

But after i low-level-formatted the harddisk (my friend advise me to do so) the harddisk is now officially dead. what went wrong, and how can i revive the harddisk back to life. is it possible to revive it? since its not a physical damage, it just software damaged i think.

i am also looking into getting a hd drive for the xbox 360 so basically i'm weighing the pro's and cons being that if i buy the xbox drive i wont be able to watch movies from the internet not warez but other stuff you cant always get through xbox as i have my pc hooked through to my lcd but the picture comes up jerky when it moves fast hence why i'm looking to upgrade it or figure out what was best either pc or xbox, would there not be a way of downloading the films then transferring them to the xbox or would i suffer from compatability issues as in the xbox not understanding some file types any advice would be good either a way of optimising my pc buy buying a few components ( not more than 170 quid ) or hd player and hdd for xbox 360 )
or any other ideas cheers oh i will mostly be watching 720p movies i dont know if the lower resolutions helps at all

I've had the computer for 6 months and have had no trouble with games or anything else. Recently I got the demo for crysis (a pc game). At first I could play it as long as I wanted with no problems.

But today I tried to play it and the computer turned itself off after about 20 minutes two times in a row.

I have exceeded the minimum requirements to play the game and I am running it on the game's suggested settings. I just don't understand why It turns itself off. Is it overheating or something?

Is there any way I can figure out what is wrong with my computer? If the specs of my computer are need they are as follows:

P5N32-E motherboard
C2D 2.4 ghz processor
2GB's of ram
Nvidia 8800 GTS 320mb

Ok here is my question, I have a 7900 gs AGP video card, I know, I Know I need to upgrade unfortunately my wife and money wont allow, listen I just got this video card, I went from a fx 5200 ultra. Anyway back to the question. I need a better way to cool it, to hold me over till I have money to completely upgrade EVERYTHING. I have been looking at zalman and thermaltake and different companies, but I just took my stock fan and heatsink off and the chip isnt in the middle like I have seen most applications it is to the far right side of the card with another chip in the middle at the bottom of the card. My fear is that any coolers I get will not fit because there designed for chips in the middle of the card and what do I do about that chip toward the lower end of the card. I NEED A COOLING METHOD, PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Few days ago my computer started making a loud noise and I thought maybe it was a dust build up in the fan.
Tried blowing air through cabinet. It's o.k. at the moment but was noisy when I turned it on this morning.
What could make a computer noisy like this. Can someone invade the system with a bug of some kind and make it run too fast or something with a programm control or something?
(maybe this is a really dumb question) seems like if the fan was broken it would keep making the noise and not go on an off. Can anyone help please?

Hi everyone I am trying to hook up my belkin router and its been a nightmare i had it connected in my other house and now when i bring it here it wont work right, i thought it was the router so i bought another one and i have the same problem, it cannot find an internet connection.... i am connecting the 2 cables one from the router to the modem, and another one from the router to the PC, anyway am i doing anything wrong? I never had problems in my other home, i just cant remeber if the actual grey phone cord goes connected on the router, any advice, by the way the belkin site isnt much help at all.

i called the support and they tell me it could be my internet provider which is aol. that causing the problem. any help woudl be appreciated thanks in advance. god bless.

I have an iMac 2003 10.3.9( http://www.monkeyfood.com/thestuff/food/Screenshots/20InchImac.jpg ) and I was going to update it to 10.4 but why bother 10.5 is coming out but I need these system requirements
-Processor must be any Intel, PowerPC G5 or G4 (at least 867 MHz or faster)
-DVD drive (for installation of the operating system)
-At least 512 MB of RAM (additional RAM (1GB) is recommended for development purposes)
-At least 9 GB of disk space available
I have all of those exept the MHz and RAM
I have -256 MB of RAM
-167 MHz
My question is how do I meet these requirments such as how do I get more RAM and MHz.
