i want to but this card but i want to know what the ssc stands for

SSC is Super Super Clocked. They also have that variant in the 8800GTS line. BUT better take a look at the new and awesome 8800GT before you buy the 8600GT SSC.

ssc means its the fastest 8600- super overclocked... better then the regular and the oc.

but consider the 8800gt its faster and in the same price range. just a hair less preformance then the gtx
