Hey .will an AMD athlon X2 processor work on a Intel 965 motherboard ?Any errors or incompatiblities reported ?

Nope, actually never. They are absolutely incompatible. But there are lots of good motherboards for Athlon X2 and there are many good Core2 Duo processors for 965 motherboards.

Nope.
They have different sockets for connection plus, different software requirements. AMD and intel chipsets don't mix well.. You'll need a new motherboard.
