I am looking to buy a web cam for my boyfriend for xmas, but I don't know anything about them. He's a dj and will use it to record his scratching. I need something with a good resolution and a clear picture that will record his movements, but I wouldn't know where to even start. What would be a good resolution or brand?

most webcams are pretty poor at recording movemend, and if they can manage speed, lose resolution.
If you can find one that can capture 640x480 resolution at 30 fps (frames per second) it should be OK though

to use a webcam on messenger you want to able to set a low resolution or else they are two slow.
The lower the resolution the poorer the quality, unless you have good lense.
Porn stars on those paid sites use a Handy cam as a web cam. They have superior quality lense for resolution and have remote zoom.
Then you need a light so you can perve on your boyfriend
You get a halogen desk lamp to do the job

good brand. logitech, microsoft, and creativelabs. they are about the same resolution. price $25-$130.
