No. It takes a lot more work than that to get them off your computer. Try McAfee or Norton.

Not by itself, no. Most viruses reload itself during startup, so restart will just, well, reload the virus.

Antivirus programs wants you to restart because it has eliminated the virus from startup, thus your system is not in danger of reinfecting itself after a restart.

No, viruses are smarter than that. Reboot using a clean startup disc & antivirus.

No you must have got it condused with formatting

formating is where you re install your OS like Xp it deletes everything on the hard drive and only downloads windows xp
