Our hard drive was replaced and we need to move drivers from one computer to another. Dell told me Memorex Cds cannot move drivers. What brand and type (Cd-R) (CD+R) are the best for burning drivers?

I already have all the neccesary parts. I know they are all compatible together. It will be my first time and I am just a little unsure when dealing with something I know so little about. I have successfully put more RAM and a GeForce graphics card in before, which is about the extent of my prowess. Does anyone have a good internet resource or be willing to help me out with this? Also things like setting up a RAID (this is for gaming). Thanks so much !

I got a second hard drive. I set the jumper right (so don't tell me to check it). I format the second hard drive, set it as extended and then logical. Problem is, sometimes it shows up in "my computer" or "disk management", sometimes it doesn't. when it doesn't show up in windows, it is detected by BIOS. so how do i make it show up in windows all the time???

Does anyone know where I can buy an evga 8800 ultra black pearl? I saw it on newegg.com last night but now it is gone and i cant find it anywhere. please help! oh and please dont say it is a waste of money or anything like that because i really dont care about your opinion. it is fster than any other card (108.00gbs a second, 655mhz core clock.) I know the xfx 8800 ultra has a faster core clock but it only has 103 gbs a sec. and the black pearl is water cooling ready. so please help!

my computer says i have 256mb of ram. my computer is slow with aplications like firefox and frostwire/limewire. but my pagefile usage on widows taks manager is only at 50%. do you think i shud buy more ram?? or is this not going to help?

my cpu is only a 1.4

I got two hard drives. The cable connecting the hard drive has 2 connectors, does it matter which connector goes to the master drive and which goes to the slave drive? same question regarding the power supply. 2 connectors on the power cable, the order matters?

OK......here it goes! I download a movie and thats all fine. In order to get it to burn on my laptop. I have to transfer from my NTFS format laptop to my external HD that is FAT32. Then burn thru convertXtoDVD from the Xdrive on a DVD-R. That is also fine. The burned disc will then play on my home DVD system and not on my computer. If I switch the DVD-R to a DVD+R then the opposite happens. It works on my comp but not on my home system. I can deal with that.......but what is really gettin me is that I cant get either type of DVD to be copied thru Nero 7 U/E. It takes way to long and not neccesary to be making copies thru convertX so I cant figure this nero problem out. I can be contacted thru my profile since this might be a back and forth conversation. i accedently uninstalled my sound device and i'm looking for my installation disk (i don't really know wat it's called it's the cd that has like Word, Excell etc on it). i was wondering if i have to use the original disk that i installed it from to install it again. thanks

I have an older HP 6545C (Celeron 500, 96megs of ram, Sound Blaster PCI, ATI 6500 PCI with 64 megs of VRAM, ethernet controller) that I'd like to put to use, but I'm not sure how. I've thought of these things so far, but none of them really seem to work for me:

-Linux box. But it's a little too underspec'd for that, plus I already have Linux running on 3 of my other computers.
-MAME/Emulators. Once again, underspec'd.
-Home server. But I'd rather not leave any computer running all the time, and we already have one we're using as such.
-Take it apart. But I already know how they go together (I built my own recently.)

Any other thoughts than these...?

I was using my mother's dell laptop and I got up and dropped it. Part of the keyboard came up and there are a bunch of colors and things on the screen. Did I break it? I can still sign onto computer and can open programs but the lines are not going away. Please say someone can help me fix it because my mother will kill me if I broke it.

I have the chip type: Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset

I want to buy a PC game but I don't wanna make the mistake of buying a game that isn't compatible with my laptop. I know the basics, like that I have 512mb RAM, 80gb hard drive, but I wanna know stuff like video card, sound card, chipset, things like that.... How can I find this stuff out? Is it written on my laptop, or saved as a file, or do I have to contact the company?

Hi, I wanted to buy a bluetooth adapter for my Sony vaio laptop. I do not want the one with USB. Wanted one which can be placed in PC card slot and it should be fixed in the slot completely. No part of the card should be shown outside. Please let me know if any one knows such an item.

everthing worked until i had to replace my heatsink bracket. It is a sony computer with a socket 478 processor. It has integrated video but that wasnt working after i put evrything back together so i tried installing an agp card and it still doesnt work. It is just a black screen like before. What in the world! I also had myself grounded by touching the case.

I just bought this thing and installed it per the included instructions. I even did the whole setting the jumper to "Master" and my regular DVD-ROM drive's jumper to "Slave". I popped in a blank Imation 4.7GB 4x DVD+RW and the little pop-up screen came up as usual. However, it referred to it as a blank CD. I looked at it funny and closed it out passing it as a blunder by Microcrap in failing to write one of its shell files correctly. I went to My Computer so I could open the drive to drag some stuff I need to burn onto the blank DVD+RW. There's no label labeling it a DVD+RW, and when I tried to drag files onto it to burn them, it gives me a message about there being an error in copying the file. Yet when I put in a regular CD+/-RW, it works fine. I checked Windows Update, looked for driver updates, changed the write speed, you name it. Nothing worked. I can't return it either. Wal-Mart won't take back this kind of merchandise if it has been opened. Anyone know what the problem is?

How do these two differ except obviously for the speed? I'm planning to install a game that requires 3.0GHz processor speed but I'm only running a 1.6. Will my system be able to support the game's demands since I'm running a dual-core?
