How do these two differ except obviously for the speed? I'm planning to install a game that requires 3.0GHz processor speed but I'm only running a 1.6. Will my system be able to support the game's demands since I'm running a dual-core?
Help please??

I know my question might sound dumb, I'm sorry but I don't know that much about computers..

BTW other details about my system, 2GB RAM and 256MB video card..

Thank you very much!

Don't sneeze at that E2140 1.6Ghz (cheap Core2 Duo). It's a real performer and a pretty awesome overclocker. It can easily do 2.0-2.4Ghz on cheap, crappy motherboards, on stock cooler and stock voltages. 2.8Ghz is attainable on better motherboards. The old tech Pentium 3.0Ghz will bite the dust.

Well, it sounds like you have a core 2 duo cpu which is way better than any P4, dual core or not, so you are set as far as CPU is concerned. That is a very nice cpu.
