I have tried everything! I am pretty computer savy and I am well aware that I am the computer administrator, but the error keeps telling me that I do not meet this "requirement." I know very little about Vista in particular, but I am very familiar with all other Windows operating systems, and the program runs fine on Windows XP. Please tell me if you have any ideas about what might be causing this problem.

I "was" about to build a computer, but today I was cheching the prices and the Intel core 2 quad Q6600 shot up from $480 to $659??!!! That is a major price change. Before this happened, the price had been steadily dropping every week. What caused this increase, and will the price come back down anytime soon?

I have a Microtek Scanmaker 4800 that uses a 12V 1.25A power adaptor, which did not come with the scanner when I purchased it used. I've been using dismatching power adaptors but they always get both the scanner and the power adaptor hot if I leave it for too long. Apparently 12V 1.25A model is discontinued and everywhere it says out of stock. Is there any available adaptor with other specs that will work with the scanner? Thanks.

Runnings Windows XP home editions. Trying to do a total restore on the hard drive. All my data has been backed up on a memory stick and trying to do a destructive restore. I had made the restore CD's when I purchased the computer. It goes thru the process until it gets to disk 5 and then pops up an error message "preload\data9.inp" unable to load then it gives an option to retry or abort. I have done both and tried to start all over again but I get the same problem. Any suggestions?

Im not very good with conputers, so If you answer this queston please make it simpler. Sometimes when I play computer games my game will completely lag out, so I exit out and warning thing on my task bar on my desktop says low virtual memory, windows is trying to create more, or something. How do I fix this?

push in power lite for five seconds, and computer power lite goes off. Cannot reboot with push button unless I unplug computer for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. then and only then can i reboot with power button.

what could this be? i have tried several things already.

When I am in-game, and I want to switch into it, I go to the page and it offers either Battlefield 2, or " Special Forces (Which I have installed separately). I have tried on both 1.4 and 1.41 patches but it will not notice it. I have registered the packs to my in-game username, and I have installed it twice. How do I get the game to notice the expansions?

I'm using PHOENIX Award BIOS, and just finished my system, but my HDD and DVDD aren't showing up under the SATA ports. I've heard that HDD's won't sometimes but there is no reason for the DVD not to, it will light up, open, close, everything. The HDD is a Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB and the DVDD is a Lite-on Superallwrite. If I have to enter these in the BIOS myself, how do I do that?

I need help with installing my printer. I uninstalled it to use the printer function. I tried installing it right now and everytime i always get this, "error 1305. reading from file "JAPPP.DIC" please verify it exists and that you can access it" i tried already, everytime i "try to acces it" a new file comes up like "JAPCLAS.DIC" I really need sme help here, anyone can help me?

I have a problem with my CD burner I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 and I was trying to copy some cds for a friend one was the Lion King sound track (which doesn't have any blocks on it) I can get the songs in my library and to were they will play with out the cd in the player but then when I put a blank CD in and tell the computer to put those songs on the blank cd it fills the cd up but once you take the blank cd out and put it back in it says the cd is still blank how can this be how do I burn copy of Cd's correctly. I'm using windows DVD maker it says it works for music CDs too.

I have an HP xw4300 Workstation with 2 Pentium 3.2 GHz processors and 2 MB of RAM. Since the day this computer came out of the box (about 11 months ago), it is sometimes very loud. It doesn't sound like the fan; actually, it sounds like that grindy noise a hard drive can make. I can't figure out why it does it sometimes; there doesn't seem to be a correlation between what I am doing and the noise. It's not hot and it's not slow. I've tried cleaning out the whole insides with compressed air. I thought it was just that computer until someone else got the same one and hers is quiet! Any ideas?

What should a user look for in a graphics card?

I've personally only looked for The cheapest ones with the best memory ( I've been looking for 512mb ones). Although you often see 256mb ones costing alot more than 512mb ones etc.

So what should you actually look for? I know compatibility is an issue but you either look for AGP ones or PCI-E ones.

And is DirectX 10 becoming a concern for people, is it the 256mb ones which cost more the ones which have DirectX 10 compatibility.
My main three questions are:
1. Whats the difference between 256mb and 512mb memory cards?
2. Will a 256mb card play almost every game there is, and if so how long will it be until games come out that exceed this limit. Or is it nothing to do with the mb.
3. Should everyone buying a graphics card now, who is expecting to keep in for a few years, make sure they buy a direct x 10 card, and is it a must.

I'm looking to get a Laptop to run WoW when I go to college and while I'm sure on the CPU (Intel Core 2 Duo 1.73Ghz-2.0GHz; haven't decided exactly yet) and the Ram 2GB, I'm having some trouble finding a computer with a good graphics card to run it smoothly.

Basically right now I'm looking at these different computers but If anyone has any suggestions over an above these (Preferably below $1300) I'd love to hear about them.

I was at the apple store some times this week and realized that I could not double touch an application with the touchpad to pull and drag.

I also I could not double touch the touchpad to maximize or minimize an application. What else I can't do with a Mac?

ok...uh my friend has an old Compaq deskpro with win2k
here are the problems
:cant install games/programs
:cant use windows media player
:cant download anything
:cant play videos
:certain internet links wont work
:takes 8-10 minutes to start up-Then another 7 minutes for icons to load
:takes 5-20 minutes for internet explorer (program) to load
:cant login to MSN until internet explorer program is going
:yahoo messenger just doesn't open at all
:flash drives/webcam/mouse..anything that requires USB doesn't work

and thats all
all the rest that I know is it at least a few years old.
and reformatting made it worse

I cant find out how much RAM or CPU type because dxdiag just doesn't work nor does any RUN commands.
just wondering if anyone else has had these problems or has an answer other than get a new PC ,because they're poor lol
