Upgrade your RAM.......or when you play games, close the other programs (not needed) running on the background, you can see them on your system tray.......
Another solution is by increasing your virtual memory (recomended limit is 1.5 times your installed RAM), access on Control Panel>System>Advanced> under Performance, click Settings, under Advanced Tab select Customize and set the value. Note: must be 1.5 times your installed RAM....

You could try to increase the amount of Virtual memory with ease. Virtual Memory is when your actual memory (RAM) gets full so it uses space on your hard drive as RAM ( hense virtual )
Try this out...
Right click My computer
click properties tab
Under "Performance" click settings
Then click advanced
At the bottom you will see what you are looking for "Virtual Memory"!!!
Click Change
In there you can have the system manage your ram, which is usually the best thing to do. Or you could increase or decrease. Do no decrease!! Increase your Initial Size and Max Size.
Then run your game and see how it works for you.
Other than that, yeah buy more RAM and maybe another Hard Drive. I like to have my Virtual Memory on a different Hard Drive other than the one with my OS running. So It doesnt have to work as hard. The less something has to work, the better off it will be, right??
Good luck

Something very helpful to mae games a bit faster would be to close backgrounds tasks and apps. To make it simpler its all the other stuff your computers doing that it doesn't really need. To do this on windows xp press and hold ctrl+alt+delete on your keyboard. A window named task manager will come up. This basically allows you to close programs such as the internet, windows movie maker, games (i find it very fast to exit a program if it's not responding cause often times if you exit it by the x or try to close it on the toolbar it will bring up a dialogue box that asks if you want to end it now or wait and it takes much longer.
Go to the processes tab and delte/end every process (either by highlighting it and pressing delete, this will open a box that will confirm this, or by clicking the end process button near the bottom of the task manager window) MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU DON'T DELETE EXPLORER.EXE, explorer.exe is the program that runs your toolbar and shortcuts, if you end that it will leav you either staring at your background or any windows that are open. if you do accidentaly exit explorer.exe or ever experience trouble with the shortcuts/toolbar just delete explorer.exe then go to file>newtask(run) and type in explorer.exe. ALSO DON'T DELETE ANYTHING WITH THE NAME SYSTEM NEXT TO IT OR NETWORK SERVICE OR LACAL SERVICE, they wont let you delete them anyway I believe.
Also don't delete tskmngr.exe or something to that effect, it's nothing serious but this is the task manager and will close the window if you end this.
Also if you have any applications running besides taskmanager or your game exit out of them or end them in the task manager screen. You can also right click on the name and bring them up to the front or go to the process to delete them faster.
Another way to fix this problem would be to buy some new RAM for your computer, make sure it's the right type of RAM, or go to a store with your computer (like BestBuy) and ask them to help you.
Hope this helps.
ctrl+alt+delete
delete all nonessential processes
close the task manager
run the game
if you ever deleted any important items jut restart your computer and they'll be back again such as explorer.exe
as such if you do delete explorer.exe and have exited out of the taskmanager you can always bring up the taskmanager by just holding ctrl+alt+delete
HOPE THIS HELPS :)

Windows will try to use true RAM memory for its active contents then starting to use hard disk space as Virtual Memory. Adding RAM as most suggest might help but none of us can say, I give that method a 25% of working the way you want.
I'm crafting my answer to you with a newbie in mind who already bought a rather modern and fully loaded gaming rig. The best explanation and work around is hard disk full, uninstall the other games and programs that is not in use right now.

When your computer runs a program it uses RAM for your primary memory. Once RAM is full windows will start using the free space on your hard drive ( virtual memory).
If your hard drive is near full you will have very little virtual memory to use.
To correct your issue you can either buy and install more RAM or free up your hard drive so you have more space.

computers have some actual reminiscence calld RAM and on the comparable time can use part of no longer elementary disk as though it substitute into RAM (digital reminiscence). you are able to evaluate digital reminiscence as very very sluggish RAM. No these days 80 GB isn't adequate. I have no wisdom approximately macs yet i could recommand a Intel center 2 Duo, with 2GB RAM, 250GB no longer elementary disk,...
