Hardware - April 2007

My PC is broken and still having RAM issues. It may be the RAM, but as is new and suddenly reporting wrong, plus all previous RAM issues with it, I'm hoping is the mb.
Want to fix it, sell it and buy a nice one BH Monday.

My computer uses an ATI 128 All-In-Wonder. I know it's already "old" by tech standards but I'm wondering if it'll prevent me from running Sims 2? A friend told me it would. What do you think? Is there anything I can do? I can't afford a major upgrade.

I'm a student and will just need a desktop for word processing, browsing the internet, Email, possibly downloading music, and basic photo editing.

I'm not into gaming or anything, and I'm on a budget, so I'd want the best "bang for my buck." Can you please tell me the minimums I would need in terms of memory, RAM, etc. to get a system that will last me for awhile? Hi guys! How are you all!?
Well, I really can use your help. I accidently downloaded a virus (fake anti-virus program). Now my screen turns blue and an error says "System has found an error and will shut down immediately"... Then it says something about BIOS, Caching, shadowing, and Safemode.... What would you advice?

I have a webcam, that i lent to a friend, but she lost the disk and i would like to use my webcam again but when i plug it in and the wizard searches it says that it cannot find the recommended software and it finished, then i get a pop saying your new hardware might not work properly and it doesn't work at all, is there any way that i can get it to work without the disk or do i need the disk?

just posted a question about changing my screen resolution thanx for all the answers but i'm still struggling. I can't change the resolution on the scale by going through control panel etc. I've tried going from control panel -system-device manager but can't find display adapter which i've been told i need to go in to. Everytime I print the cards only 1 card prints. I tried to set up the cardstock but it gives many options for different paper size for the size business cards I want to print. I am unsure of which option to select. I have 10 cards per sheet, 3 1/2 x 2 (standard size) Heavyweight cover stock buisness cards. Can you please help to tell me what I am doing wrong and to assist me?

Im currently in the process of upgrading my G4 500mhz and im having I hard time diciding which is a better value since they are both around the same price range. Here are my options:

G4 1.5GHz for $259.99 SINGLE or the G4 1.0GHz Dual for $279.99.

I will be using it for 3d rendering and modeling. I also use Photoshop and Illustrator as my main apps. I know the dual helps a lot for multitasking but since the single is faster! AARGHH!! LOL Hard time deciding! =)

My old ibook went and died or something on me and the guy saved everything to a disc for me. Now I'm trying to open documents from the disc that I remember saving as appleworks documents but all I get is a bunch of codes whenever I try to open them in something else on my pc and I have no idea what to do. I'm planning to buy a pixma 1700. It's cheap and highly rated. The problem is, it has no output tray. Does anyone know how to remedy this? Is there an output tray somewhere out there that you could latch on this model? Thanks
