ASrock is actually made by Asus. They're the number one mobo manufacturer. The difference is that the ASrock's features are limited compared to the Asus line of boards. Whereas Asus gives plenty of overclocking options, the ASrock's pretty basic. But they're generally pretty stable and give good performance.

It really depends on the model. I wouldn't buy a motherboard unless it had several customer reviews. Check websites like newegg.com or tigerdirect.com and various other websites to determine the reliability of the board. The more background research you do on individual models, the less likely you are to get suckered into buying a crummy board.

Asrock motherboards are Asus budget range mobos, for the price they are very good.
They are certainly worth concideration.

If you mean ASRock, it's a subsidiary company of ASUS. They sell value motherboards (i.e., cheaper motherboards). I use one myself, and am about to upgrade to another ASRock motherboard.

if your getting a new computer, build custom, if you dont have a clue about computers then ask youre local store, not dixons or currys, a private store, they actually know what they are talking about, and it all depends what you want to do with your computer, if you have a clue what you are doing then check out http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=5 , all their stuff is really cheap, good luck
