It's the line spacing. Wordpad can't help you either. The scanner scanned your document and the OCR interpreted it but the OCR made the font a size 12 and put the words into Wordpad, but with size 10 line spacing, therefore the top portion of the words appear all cut off.

Two work arounds-
Scan & OCR to a better wrod processor like Works or Word or WordPerfect then adjust the line spacing to 100%.

If you have no better word processor, copy the mess from Wordpad a paste it into Notepad then save it as a file. Close Notepad and then open it again and open the file. Copy & Paste the words back to a NEW Wordpad document. They should look okay now.

NotePad doesn't save formatting, so you've essentially removed the formatting created by the OCR.

If this problem persists, try setting the OCR to scan to Notepad first. Then Copy & Paste to Wordpad.
