I have in my house a Clone PC and a brand laptop. My parents need a new computer, because the one that they have right now is too old... What do you recommend to them, clone PC or a brand one? If it´s brand, which one do you recommend?

This is a matter of preference. But since it is for your parents, I would recommend a brand name PC, that has a warranty and tech support from the company. If you were to build them a PC or buy a shop (clone) brand PC, you will most likely be their source of tech support. If you're not available or something goes really wrong, its best that they have the option to call tech support, diagnose the problem, and get replacement parts if necessary. It also comes down to cost, while it wasn't always the case, most retail PCs, cost less than one assembled from parts. My personal preference would be for Hewlett Packard (HP). They tend to have good prices at retail (think Wal-mart), and (in most cases) their tech support tends to be fairly good at dealing with most problems. But that's just my preference; Dell, Gateway and even eMachines aren't by any means bad either. The link below may be a good starting point to help you get started.

If you want to save and have an easier time upgrading later, you could get a clone from a reputable store w/ warranty service. Everything inside the clone are genuine PC components and almost all have factory warranty.

If money is not an issue, get a branded PC. Proprietary designs just limit your options to upgrade later.

well.. is it for you parent.. brand.. because you go to have... warranty if something go wrong with the computer.. clone.. if you are the person that build the computer no... or if you buy the clone one in the store.. yes...

but still you choice... also you can bring one or both of you parent to buy the computer with you and let them know what is the difference...

good luck

Historically clones are more versatile and about the same price. Shop around on pricewatch.com for systems.

it is a matter of choice, if you are the one assembling the computer yourself then, it is a cheaper option and then you can fix it.
But for your parents i would think brand PC is a better option.
