My computer uses an ATI 128 All-In-Wonder. I know it's already "old" by tech standards but I'm wondering if it'll prevent me from running Sims 2? A friend told me it would. What do you think? Is there anything I can do? I can't afford a major upgrade.

Any card will do just fine, the ati you have is more than enough.

The Sims 2 doesn't require much video-card-wise, but an ATI Rage series is too old. According to the system requirements, you need a 32MB T&L compatible card, meaning at least a GeForce or Radeon. If you shop around at online stores you can find something suitable for ~$40.

NO, but you will have more fun with a better card especially if you have the newer wide LCDs.

Here' the system requirement that includes a list of supported video cards.

My daughters are enjoying Sims2 a lot on one of my rigs w/ a Nvidia 7300GT ddr3.

I hope you have lots of fun with it too!

That should run the Sims flawlessly and add a nice compliment to your pictures and videos

Note that if you want to run the newer games you will need a lot bigger upgrade but that card isnt bad for just simple games and viewing pictures.
