samsung1 and hp1 are cheaper but im willing to spend extra if its worth it, could you recommend which one i should buy or if you know any laptop thats similar in price

I've scanned my computer with KasperSky 6.0 latest updates. No virus detected. What could be the problem? And how can I solve it?

I just reinstalled Windows XP onto my desktop, but cannot get a screen resolution above 640x480 with 16 color. I am not using the default monitor for this computer, and when I try to do the Windows troubleshooting I am not able to access the 'properties' menu to update the driver.

What else can I try to fix this and make my screen look normal?

This is apparently a known problem with hp Pavilion notebooks. The round little (ac converter) power input jack plugs into a connector on the computer. The receptacle on the computer is apparently soldered onto the motherboard and only that solder mechanically holds it to the computer, no fitting on the case. When you often unplug and plug the power input jack, it works loose eventually. Then the solder contact probably is broken on the motherboard. When I have a fully charged battery, the computer runs ok. The battery connector is separate all together.

Any ideas to give it the DC power it needs without removing the motherboard and resoldering the connector? Is it practical for example to take apart an old dead battery and rig a DC power source to the batter connector?

And yes I can also buy a new computer.

I know now that I have to use my QuickRestore cds to fix my laptop..(because it basically crashed) but I am not sure if I can do that with it connected to my wireless router card. (The router is not built in to the laptop, I added it with software).

we emptied out cookies, temp. files, did disc scan, virus scan an spyware scan, we deleted alot of stuff we didn't really need but still slow, takes about 15 t0 20 minutes to get into crib on "i on thunder" game site, i do have high speed internet, java takes forever to load as well,

If I am reading the details right, my computer memory is pc 2700 512 mb 133 MHZ.
I wish to add another 512 mb memory but all that I can find is 333 MHZ and I'm wondering if this will work?
