It is only happening when I am in Internet Explorer, the keys work properly in Microsoft Word, etc. I checked the language settings and they are all on English. It is an IBM laptop.

You may have your computer on the wrong keyboard setting. For example, you might have your keyboard set to the French keyboard instead of the American or English one (depending on which you normally use).

In order to switch it back you need to find something like system settings and see if you can find where you would be able to change the keyboard setting. I can't tell you exactly what to do because I don't know what type of computer you have.

It is also possible that your keyboard is broken and not working properly. I would try switching the keyboard setting, and if that doesn't help, then I would take it to a computer repair shop to see if they can figure out what is wrong.

A friend had something similar happen. It was something to do with his keyboard being set up for a US keyboard rather than British one.

A bit vague I know.

your keyboard must have a wrong setting or it's broken. If it's about the previous, try to set it back in the panel control or with the help of a technician. If it's broken, I suggest you buy a new one cos it will probably cost you less than the bill of your technician.

That happened to my Desktop's keyboard once...I have no idea how to fix it I just took it into a comp store and asked them to fix it. If they can't then there isn't anything you can do exept to buy a new keyboard.

Either you cannot type or your keys are switched around...
