Unlike cars, there is no official way to figure out the depreciation value of laptop computers. Each laptop's configuration varies greatly and thus the value of the laptop varies. What you can do is to compare the prices with those available on the internet like ebay. However, this value would not be very accurate.

If you are planning to sell the laptop and the laptop isn't exactly new, then just donate the computer as the value and speed isn't really worth much.

Like anything else in the PC world...If it's older than 6 months, it's usually worthless and can be replaced with something better for cheaper.

The easiest way is to find the same model on Ebay and see how much it goes for.

once you buy it it's worthless. It goes down half of its value for every year you own it.
