I just purchased a cheap pci soundcard from newegg. It is very glitchy. I can't even get it to make solid noise. It is very glitchy and slow. It takes about 20 seconds for the Windows welcome tune to finish. I have installed the drivers and everything. Do any cables need to be hooked up to the card? I thought I just needed to plug it into the pci slot and go. Is it just that it is to cheap of a card (7.99)? Please help

Which is better and can they play games such as WoW, HL2 in detail?

The dell inspiron 6400 with:

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T5200 (1.60 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 533 MHz FSB)
1024MB 533MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x512)
120GB (5,400rpm) Hard Drive
and either of the top graphics cards above
and 3 years at home service for about £720.

Is it worth it? Is there better laptops for the same price?

apparently i cannot format D: due to it being in use, however , there must be a way, as there is NO "real responsibility" of that space...i want to format it to free up 85+ GB.....a large #>> any suggestions welcome from the pea nut gallery?

its not in the kworld web site and when search for this card its come to DVB S-100 then i downloads the drivers but it not working for this card...so what card is this DVBS-PCI-CX VER.R

For some weird reason, my laptop, which is a INSPIRON 1300 is not showing full screen when I go to the Web Browser or even on my desktop. Is there something that I can do in order for it to turn back to wide screen and not just centered with the left and right sides chopped with just black? This is the first time it's done this to me.

Hi, Last week i was playing a game on my PC (Arma), i left the pc on with the game paused and came back to it an hour later to find it had turned off. When i tried to turn it on nothing happened, their was a flash of light from the cathodes on the front every now and then for a sec but nothing would turn on. I channged the Power Supply Unit (PSU) and everything worked fine untill i tired to play a game last night (the same game) and during the game the pc suddenly went off. with the same symtoms as last time. What could be causing my PSU to blow out? the CPU, motherboard are about 2 months old. i have an IDE and SATA drive, the SATA is about 2 months old. the 3d card is geforce 7800 GTX. 1gig of ram. their was no smell/sign of burning each time. Could it be the game that caused it? Its the only game i have played during so maybe a 3d card problem? The PSU was powerfull enough each time (400w using PSU calculator my computer uses 356w)
any advice?

I was trying to print something but couldnt, in the process I have commanded the printer several pages of unwanted repeated printing. The pages keeps being printed repeatedely. I dont want to waste all my ink and paper. How do I cancel what has been mistakenly set to print. Help!!

Ok im pretty sure i have an agp motherboard this new game i got requires an Nvida %700 with shadow tech.

I was wondering with an apg outlet is it possible to find a card with out being psi express that will play my game.

My Mac ibook G4, started shutting off before it reached 0%. usually at 80%, but also as low as 30%. The mac SO CALLED Genius told me to replace the battery. He said the problem was caused because my cycle count was too high. So i paid over 100$ for a new battery and it has developed the same problem even with a low cycle count. After a while of using it in the wall outlet it now has and X in the battery display where the % would be showing. What's going on and how can I make my laptop "portable" again?

Is there a software that can adjust the brightness of my monitor?

my desktop monitor is getting darker in game display..i used to use 3Deep software, which i can manually calibrate the brightness, but now 3deep software is no longer available in the net.

is there other software you know? i hear "Adobe Gamma" but i don't know where to find it.

I've read some post in some forums and they said that q6600 will be just around $250-$300 in q3 this year... Is it true or is it near impossible to happen? I really need a new laptop. My Acer Aspire 1350 is in great condition and have no problems, but it is just so terribly slow (256 MB ram) and my hard disk (20 GB) is almost full. I am thinking about either adding 512 MB ram and an external hard disk or buing a new laptop. Would it make sense to upgrade it? Does anyone know the typical lifespan of a laptop?

my monitor will switch off into standby unexpected,this hasnt got anything to do with power settings as i have all of them to "never"
this last happened when i was doing a defrag,and it cant be a virus or spyware as i have just done a clean reinstall of the o/s
i cleaned the chassis fan last week and i may have put it back in the wrong way,i have also noticed my graphic card tempetures are slightly higher lately
so could it be my graphic card thats causing the problem
i would like to hear from anyone who has been experiencing similar problems

I do have a computer and wear glasses while using it, not to ruin my eyes. I noticed when i used my old CRT-Monitor i always had dust particles on my glasses after .. lets say an hour or so. I thought this is cause this crappy™ Monitor works like some sort of particle accelerator first attracting dust and then peppering me with it.
Now i changed to a really expensive TFT-Display, and i thought this dust phenomena would stop... But its still covering dust...

Ok i do have a fuzzy carpet and because i know that i use my vacuum cleaner on it ONCE A DAY. Sooooo

question: Does a TFT attracts and accelerates dust towards you ? What are your experiences ?
