256MB ATI® Mobility™ Radeon® X1400 HyperMemory™ graphics card OR 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7300 TurboCache™

Which is better and can they play games such as WoW, HL2 in detail?

The dell inspiron 6400 with:

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T5200 (1.60 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 533 MHz FSB)
1024MB 533MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x512)
120GB (5,400rpm) Hard Drive
and either of the top graphics cards above
and 3 years at home service for about £720.

Is it worth it? Is there better laptops for the same price?

Both of those graphic cards are in the mid-end and low-end graphic accelerators, but they're already quite nice enough for playing the games. However, if you have a bit more money, why don't you try checking out the ATI® Mobility™ Radeon® X1600 HyperMemory™ or the NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7600 TurboCache™, they're better. Otherwise, just increase your RAM to 2GB as the others say, and the turbocache/hypermemory will do the job of getting more memory for the graphics. I'm personally checking out the Asus F3Jc-AP048M, it's a bit more expensive than the one you're looking at, but the specs are a lot better.

Well the good news is that it will play Oblivion. (Mainly because I have it.) How ever crank that baby up to 2 GB if you really want to get the most out of it. Both ATI & Nvidia will do the trick. ATI will be my choice even though Nvidia is a better card it sometimes require tweaking to play certain games when it comes to overall game compatibilty go with ATI. But I need to know what the price is in US currency. Here you can get that between $799-$899. That particular laptop is a barbell in a case for the same specs you can get a HP that lighter and a little stronger cosmeticly but the inspirion is still a great (Mass Produced) machine & will be good for your computer needs especially if you don't plan on lugging it all over the place.

pretty good. i would say worth it but the graphics card would chew a lot of power for a laptop like that.

buy it. also you could get it cheaper online but the hassle is huge if you need repairs under warranty. its worth going local just for that

err, not really. the dell computers are the most overpriced computers there are, if your wanting a powerhouse laptop, then go with a gateway.
