With laptops I would go with DELL. Mainly cause of their customer service. A laptop breaking can be a mess, but DELL's customer service is top notch and they will fix it no questions asked.

Because of the new Intel Core 2 Duos, the AMD X2 Dual Cores are going way down in price to compete.
While Core 2 Duo is the best, it isnt exactly needed by everyone.

u can get a laptop for free if u sign up for one of the singnet's package, that's for the higher bandwidth package, otherwise Dell's prices will come close to your expectation, think i saw one model that is selling for abt $1100.

Only Dell or Acer or some Private brand would fullfil your requirement

well i wouldnt recomend it but dell sells cheap laptops for under $900 but they have horrible customer service and pay for wat u get and that is cheap
