hi,
there seems to be something wrong with either the AC adapter or the battery on my laptop. (It's a Compaq Presario series 2200).Here is how it looks to me now, if I charge it together with the AC adapter, the charging signal doesn't light up as it used to,and the AC adapter doesn't warm up as it used to,I reckon that's probably because it's not working, and if I tried to remove the battery and push it backed in (with or without the AC adapter) ,
the orange signal would flash for a few seconds and die down again, I need to locate where exactly the problem is so that
I don't show up at the local PC shop (btw,I'm in a foreign country)like a fool so they can charge me with an unreasonably high price.Appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

When I turn on my computer, my monitor won't show anything. Both the power lights and the "busy" lights are on, and if I connect the CD drive, its light is on also. What should I do? BTW, I have duplicates of most of the parts.

I have just bought the motherboard MSI P4M980M-L

http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=757

according to the info on the link above, it says that it supports DDR2 533/400.
However, my big question is this... I have 2 DDR400 512mb each. But I'm not quite sure installing them already. Because as I've said: it supports DDR2 533/400. but I dont know what exactly does that mean... the motherboard supports DDR2 400 or it can also support DDR400????

I asked this before but no one could help me. Help please!!!!

Currently running

Intel 2.8
512ram
15g Hard drive
300g Hard drive
Geforce FX 5200 128mb
Asus P4C800 Motherboard
1 DVD player
1 CD/RW
350W Power Supply Unit.

I'm thinking about upgrading to 1g Ram
and getting a Geforce 7600GT 128mb

Now I've been hearing that Geforce 7600GT Runs great with 350W PSUs. Plus doesn't really lack anything to 7800GS.
And I know that psu is not just the watts but all the rails that need attention... which I have no clue..

If I upgrade without upgrading my PSU would my pc run decently?

As you can see my pc is getting pretty old,
I just want to spend maybe like $200 for an upgrade for it to last maybe a year or two longer.
(...or until Microsoft stops supporting windows XP.. which I think they said 3 years from now?)

Will it still be possible to run software programs that were designed for Windows XP on Windows Vista? For example if I wanted to run Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 (it says on the box that it was designed for Windows XP) on Windows Vista would there be any problems?

Alot of the software on my PC is designed for Windows XP...when I switch over to Windows Vista will these programs still function properly?

I currently play World of Warcraft and my computers graphics card will no longer support the game and therefor my computer will jus tcrash in the middle of the game. So i was looking at graphics cards online and the ATI RADEON X1950 XTX 512MB GDDR4 PCI Express Graphics Card caught my attention. In the requirements it says u need crossfire configuration. What is this and do u think my computer will be able to support this card. If not what do you recommend.

Ok, the computer I am currently using is an old pc from 2000. It has a 80 GB Hard Drive, but the C:/ drive only has 18.6 GB while the D:/ drive has 55.8 GB. How do I move like 40-50 GB from the D:/ drive to the C:/ drive? For some reason the D:/ drive doesn't have anything to do with system recovery like my new pc. It is just a regular drive like the C:/ Drive. I want to do this because I obviously only use the C:/ Drive, so I want more space for it. Thanks if you guys can help me!

I put my usb drive in and the bubble pops up and says it's found new hardware - usb drive.

Then when I go to open windows explorer, there's no sign of it. I even re-booted my computer, but still it didn't see the drive.

Can I change a setting to make it appear so that I can write to it?
