hi,
there seems to be something wrong with either the AC adapter or the battery on my laptop. (It's a Compaq Presario series 2200).Here is how it looks to me now, if I charge it together with the AC adapter, the charging signal doesn't light up as it used to,and the AC adapter doesn't warm up as it used to,I reckon that's probably because it's not working, and if I tried to remove the battery and push it backed in (with or without the AC adapter) ,
the orange signal would flash for a few seconds and die down again, I need to locate where exactly the problem is so that
I don't show up at the local PC shop (btw,I'm in a foreign country)like a fool so they can charge me with an unreasonably high price.Appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

You never said if the computer works. If it runs with the battery out and the adapter plugged in, the adapter is probably OK. It might not be getting warm because the battery is bad and not drawing any charging current.
