Use mbrwiz (mbr wizard).
It's a free DOS program that will fix any master boot record problems.
If you need to you can even run DOS from a floppy or cd to run program or just run it from the command prompt by booting in system recovery console mode off your windows CD.
Also press f-12 or f-8 (normally) to open bios where you can choose the boot order and tell your computer to boot off the cd-rom drive first....and put your Windows CD in the CD-ROM drive.

I USED MBRWIZ TO RECOVER WINDOWS XP AFTER IT WOULDN'T BOOT WHEN I INSTALLED LINUX (IE DUAL BOOT FIX).

you would either need a slate disk to repair the mbr, which is the "master boot record". I would suggest, that you should reinstall the operating system that you use. Or try to repair the installation, from the operating system install cd.
